Jesus, Lord of Diapers
So, the other night my children are singing like the little *ahem* angels that they are and I am singing along...."Si-i-lent niiiight. Ho-o-lyyy niiiiight. Aaaalllll is caaaaaalm. Aaaaalllll is brrrriiiiight. Round yon birgin, mudder and chiwd, ho-wy infant so tender and miwd, sweep in heavenwy peeeeeeee-ace, sweee-eeeeep in heaven-wy peace. Jesus, Lord of dia-pers, Je-sus, Lord of Diapers." I soon realized they thought "Lord at thy birth was in fact, Lord of diapers!" Awesome! May God bless you and yours this Christmas and always!

Preschool Christmas Program and a New Gilpin!!!
The boys had their Preschool Christmas Program Friday night. They had been practicing for weeks and weeks. Every day Caleb practiced singing Silent Night and he sings so beautifully I couldn't wait! Jonah, who has always been very deeply touched by music always gets upset by that song because he feels like it's sad so I was interested to see how the whole thing would go.
Well, the big night came and the class before theirs had two little boys who each grabbed a microphone and started singing an unplanned solo. I laughed thinking "how funny" and Mike got nervous thinking "Uh oh...look what Caleb just witnessed." Then, it occurred to me that Caleb also heard everyone laugh.
I turned on the video camera with great apprehension and I saw their class begin to sing and I watched Jonah's legs begin to twitch and sway ala Elvis himself. He pretty much did this throughout the entire performance. Jonah is a honky-tonk, blues, R & B boy, that is for sure!!!!
Caleb left the stage to say hello to me twice and apparently felt a little tired so he laid down on the stairs while the class finished up their numbers. It was hilarious. Not what I had expected but not as wild as it could have been! Either way, the whole thing was just darling and their teachers did a remarkable job teaching all of those wonderful little people the songs of Christmas.
Also, today, we welcomed Sarah Elizabeth Gilpin into the world in Brazil! We understand she is 18" long and weighs 6.1 lbs. and has blonde hair like her mommy! Tara (Sarah's mommy) is tired but good and we are so pleased to hear that mommy and baby are doing well! God is so good to us! We will get to meet little Sarah in September and we cannot wait for pictures. No doubt she will have a big Gilpin head (we'll buy her a big pillow) but will be gorgeous!!! :-D
Yay! A New Look!
So my fabulous cousin Susie made a new look for our blog! I am loving it and her very much! Thank you dearie!!!!

Thanksgiving 2008
Mike had to work today as they had 600 guests at One Market (www.onemarket.com). Wow! Just WOW! He is a busy, busy boy! The boys and I went to my Aunt Trisha's home in Maaaaaaaaan-teca, which used to be home to the famous waterslides but is now home to the not-so-famous RV sales center. In Spanish, Manteca means "lard". That kills me everytime I am reminded of it!
I was motivated to get this blog started to day by my wonderfully creative and spunky cousin Suzy, who currently resides in China. She has always been a very positive and inspiring person. I have always admired that about her. Funny how we think things like that about people and never tell them. She is also very beautiful. On the outside, which is important in this world but also on the inside, which is important in the bigger scheme of things. I really like that about her too. So, Suzy, thanks for the motivation to get this thing rolling. This one is boring but I have no doubt that you'll "pimp" it for me just right! *LOL*
I was thinking just yesterday that I needed to write some things down before they left my brain since I have yet to do baby books for my boys. They are 4. Great mom. 4 and no baby books. For heaven's sake! What a loser! But, Jonah, my taller, curly-haired boy, loves water. The neighbors next door are redoing their home and as a result, there is often water in the gutter. Jonah sees it and goes to say hello to it. He calls it his "water friend". He says "Hewo water fwiend!" He struggles with "l" and "r" still. It sounds darling! He loves to walk along side the water as it runs toward wherever it is headed and talk to it. He is a real sweetie- pie. Caleb is a sprite in every way! He is just magical. He never slows down and his comedic timing is impeccable! There is a comedian who has a dog puppet I guess, I don't know who he is but Mike does and apparently the comedian will talk to the dog and say "Do you like xxx" and the dog will respond "Yes, it's wonderful...for me to poop on!" or something along those lines. Well, about a year ago, Caleb saw a short clip and noticed his daddy laughing really hard. About 3 months later his dad and he went somewhere and Caleb busted out "Daddy, that is nice xxx.....for me to poop on!" I suppose you had to be there but his father found it very very amusing!
OK- I am going to go and watch my weekly smut TV- The Office and Paris Hilton's My New BFF- my only 2 hours of weekly TV that is just for me! We are down to 4 BFFs. I wonder who got the boot this week!
Peace, love and pumpkin pie to everyone. Remember to say your prayers and be thankful for all of the little things tonight. This world is a crazy place and sometimes, just curling up under a cozy blanket is enough to make me grateful!
